6308-HC4U1 Bearing Structure

The structure of NSK6308-HC4U1 cryogenic deep groove ball bearings consists of a stainless-steel inner and outer ring, Si₃N₄ ceramic balls, and a non-metallic cage engineered for self-lubrication and long-term wear resistance. This design delivers low friction, high-speed performance, and reliable operation under radial or combined loads, even when axial forces are present.

At temperatures between –60 °C and –196 °C, ordinary steel becomes brittle and loses mechanical integrity. To ensure stability in such environments, materials with superior low-temperature properties—such as 9Cr18, 9Cr18Mo stainless steel, beryllium bronze, and advanced ceramics—are preferred. Among these, ceramics stand out for maintaining hardness, wear resistance, and thermal stability, making them a key material for ultra-low-temperature bearing construction.

Main Applications of NSK 6308-HC4U1

NSK 6308-HC4U1 bearings excel in ultra-low-temperature applications across multiple sectors:

1. Aerospace: Mars rovers, satellites, and cryogenic rocket pumps.

2. Medical Technology: MRI scanners and cryogenic cooling systems.

3. Cryogenic Industrial Systems: LNG pumps, liquid nitrogen/oxygen/hydrogen pumps, and refrigeration equipment.

NSK cryogenic bearings are engineered for the world’s most extreme environments. Built with special stainless-steel rings, high-performance ceramic balls, and a low-temperature-resistant polyimide cage, they offer exceptional hardness, strength, and durability. This advanced construction ensures reliable performance in the severe cryogenic conditions of LNG submersible pumps and other low-temperature systems.

These bearings are ideal for liquid oxygen pumps, liquid nitrogen pumps, LNG pumps, and cryogenic propulsion systems used in aerospace. Designed to operate using cryogenic media as the only lubricant, NSK 6308-HC4U1

cryogenic bearings deliver long service life and high reliability where ordinary bearings cannot survive.

Through the use of high-nitrogen stainless steel, precision-machined raceways, and hot-isostatic-pressed ceramic balls, NSK achieves outstanding corrosion resistance, fatigue strength, and wear performance. This combination allows the bearings to maintain stability, extend equipment life, and provide exceptional performance in demanding cryogenic applications.
