6207-H-T35D Bearing Structure

NSK 6207-H-T35D low-temperature deep groove ball bearings are constructed with a stainless-steel outer ring, stainless-steel inner ring, silicon nitride (Si₃N₄) rolling elements, and a non-metallic cage featuring self-lubrication, wear resistance, and low-temperature durability. This combination ensures minimal friction, high rotational speed, and excellent capability to withstand radial loads, as well as combined radial-axial loads. It is also suitable for applications requiring axial load support in extremely low-temperature environments.

In temperatures ranging from –60 °C to –196 °C, conventional steels typically lose strength and toughness due to low-temperature brittleness, resulting in premature bearing failure. For this reason, stainless bearing steels such as 9Cr18 and 9Cr18Mo, along with beryllium bronze and ceramic materials, are widely used for cryogenic applications. Ceramics,

in particular, offer exceptional hardness, wear resistance, and thermal stability at ultra-low temperatures, making them one of the most ideal materials for manufacturing cryogenic bearings.

NSK 6207-H-T35D cryogenic bearings feature a robust structure consisting of special stainless-steel rings, ceramic balls, and a durable polyimide cage. The ceramic rolling elements and low-temperature-resistant cage operate smoothly between the inner and outer rings, providing the hardness, wear resistance, and thermal stability needed for extreme environments. This makes the bearings exceptionally well suited for LNG submersible pumps, ensuring consistent performance and long operational life.

These bearings are widely used in liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and liquefied gas pumps, as well as other cryogenic fluid pumps and aerospace systems. Such applications require bearings that can operate without conventional lubricants and instead rely on cryogenic media for lubrication. As cryogenic technology expands, the requirements for reliability and service life have become increasingly demanding.

To address these needs, NSK utilizes high-nitrogen stainless steel for the rings, advanced HIP ceramic balls for the rolling elements, and highly precise raceway machining. Combined with specialized thermal processing, these materials deliver excellent corrosion resistance, low wear, and superior fatigue properties. This ensures stable, long-lasting operation even when the bearing is lubricated solely by LOX, LN₂, or LNG.
